A baptism, a haunting, a confession, a karmic cleansing, an apology. ‘tears from the onion i sliced’ is a ritual leading to the resolutionary baptism for my late great grandmother. Moving intuitively with themes of blood memory, psychogeography, femininity, absurdity, catholicism, and spirituality, this piece aims to invite supernatural and superstition through the medium of performance; by questioning our relationships to ourselves and to a higher power.  My atonement for my mother and her mother and hers, anchored by apologies. The cords of my bloodline grip me tight like a leash, suspended by the kite that is cutting through the sky. How do I honor yet purge? How do I let the body remember? I find myself at the altar of consequence.
